Artist Statement
In my work, I’m interested in the everyday intimacies of life conveyed through a colourful lens. I’m particularly interested by interiors and how they reflect the inhabitant of the space. The everyday experience is a continual curiosity of mine, how everyone experiences things collectively yet individually. There is no limit to the everyday. Currently, I work with oil paints and oil pastels. I am enjoying the process of making, instinctually painting with colour and seeing how things go and how it makes me feel. I’m influenced by the Fauvist movement and artists such as, Pierre Bonnard, David Hockney, Andrew Cranston and R.B Kitaj.
